The Alpha Course: An Opportunity to Explore the Meaning of Life

We are currently taking a hiatus. If you're interested in attending when we start up again, please email our pastor Marc Pitman at marc@watervillevineyard.org.

What is Alpha?
Alpha is a ten-week opportunity to explore the validity and relevance of the Christian faith for our 21st century lives.

It's relaxed, non-threatening, low key, friendly, and fun.

We have a meal at the beginning of each session which gives us the opportunity to get to know each other.

It's a practical introduction to the basics of Christianity with lots of opportunity for debate and discussion. You can ask anything!

What's Goes On?
Each week people meet together for a terrific meal. After dinner, we watch a talk on topics such as "Who is Jesus?", "Why Did Jesus Die?", "Why and How do I Pray?" Then we spend time in small groups to discuss the talk.

There is a Saturday afternoon/evening retreat midway through the course, which focuses on the person and work of the Holy Spirit.

Who is Alpha for?
Alpha is for everyone, especially:

  • Those wanting to investigate Christianity
  • New Christians
  • Newcomers to the church
  • Those who want to brush up on the basics

What Will It Cost?
There is no charge for the Alpha course or the meal.
